NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE: HIS POWER

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE

Ephesians 3:20-21 (AMP)
Now to him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen. [SO BE IT!]

SCRIPTURE FOCUS FOR TODAY

Ephesians 3:20-21 (AMP)
Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams]………

COMMENT
God can do mare than we dare ask or think! How often do we limit God by focussing more on our circumstances rather than on him? How often do we look at a situation in the natural and not see what God can do because we are looking at it from a human perspective? This can leave us feeling frustrated, despondent and without hope that things can change. But everything changes the minute we look to God, to his strength and power. Jesus himself said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).

His power is beyond our comprehension. He spoke and the heavens were created (Psalm 33:6), he formed us out of the dust (Genesis 2:7), and his understanding is beyond measure (Psalm 147:5). As Paul puts it in Ephesians, “He can do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think…infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams!”

It’s important to know that Ephesians 3:20-21 isn’t so much about us as it is about him and his power. He doesn’t always do things the way we think he should and he certainly does things in his timing, not ours. His way is so much better than ours and always brings life and is more fruitful. The real question for all of us today is, will you trust yourself and your strength or will you trust in God and his immeasurable power to see his plans outworked in your life and in those around you? Because with God, nothing is impossible!

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

  1. In what ways do you put limitations on God?

  2. What does, “God can do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think” mean to you?

  3. Do you find yourself wanting God to work in the ways you want Him to, rather than trusting Him?

MAIN QUESTION (SELF REFLECTION)

What is God speaking to you about concerning Gods’ power and how it’s linked to his purposes?

Encourage others by sharing your revelation in the group chat on Planning Center!
This is a self-reflection about what God is speaking directly to you about in YOUR life.
Words like “I” and “Me” are encouraged, “we” and “us” less so.

PERSONAL PRAYER STARTER
Lord, help me to rely on you rather than my own strength. I bring the circumstances of my life to you and I say today, your will be done. I thank you for what you’ve done so far in my life. I ask that you help me to better see your hand upon my life and to know and follow your plans and purposes.

14 DAYS OF PRAYER (Corporate Prayer)
FAMILY - Pray for strong families. Pray against division and spiritual attack and speak the favour of God over families.
