WHAT YOU LOOK FOR YOU FIND
SCRIPTURE PASSAGE
Matthew 7:7-8 (NLT)
7 “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
COMMENT
Here Jesus is encouraging us to be persistent in prayer, to keep asking and not give up. More broadly speaking though, he is saying that what we seek we will find, “Everyone who seeks finds.” This truth is so profound in our lives, what we look for we find.
If we look for offence we will definitely find it, if we seek reasons to fear we will find them, if we look for approval from people we will be chained to their opinions.
If we look for Jesus we will find him. When we look for His wisdom we will find it. If we seek his presence
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
In what ways do you put limitations on God?
What does, “God can do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think” mean to you?
Do you find yourself wanting God to work in the ways you want Him to, rather than trusting Him?
MAIN QUESTION (SELF REFLECTION)
What is God speaking to you about concerning Gods’ power and how it’s linked to his purposes?
Encourage others by sharing your revelation in the group chat on Planning Center!
This is a self-reflection about what God is speaking directly to you about in YOUR life.
Words like “I” and “Me” are encouraged, “we” and “us” less so.
PERSONAL PRAYER STARTER
Lord, help me to rely on you rather than my own strength. I bring the circumstances of my life to you and I say today, your will be done. I thank you for what you’ve done so far in my life. I ask that you help me to better see your hand upon my life and to know and follow your plans and purposes.
14 DAYS OF PRAYER (Corporate Prayer)
FAMILY - Pray for strong families. Pray against division and spiritual attack and speak the favour of God over families.
