COMMENT

With God, nothing is impossible! But I’ve been praying and praying and nothing is happening. What now? In this scenario it’s so easy to give up, to stop believing and to stop asking. The increased pace of our modern culture doesn’t help either as we are so used to everything happening quickly. We send a text to someone and wait 5min…we wonder why they haven’t responded. We shop on-line and if the product doesn’t arrive within a few days we’re not happy. We need information, out comes our phones and we have the answer within a minute or two. Everything in life is getting faster and faster, more instant. Perhaps this is why waiting on God is becoming increasingly harder and harder for us.

Yet when it comes to God, in the bible we see prayers answered instantly and other times it can take years, decades and every centuries for some to be answered. This is great encouragement. We can believe for the quick response, and so we should, but we also need to keep a longer term perspective if the answer doesn’t coming instantly. Sometimes God is moved by our prayers and in his infinite wisdom knows the perfect time to move. When he moves things always work out better, fruit is always produced and new life comes as a result. Basically, he always knows best! His timing is always better than ours.

Our verses today tell us how to wait on the Lord, to wait patiently, to be brave and courageous (Psalm 27:14), for the Lord is good to those who wait for him and seek him in the waiting (Lam 3:27). Do you need him to intervene into a situation? Keep praying and wait patiently. Need healing? Keep asking and be brave and courageous! Don’t give up for the Lord is good to those who wait on him. Keep moving forward and don’t be surprised if he moves powerfully in you in the meantime in other ways as you spend time in his presence.

Yep, with God nothing is impossible….don’t give up, keep believing no matter what!

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

  1. What is your greatest struggle in waiting on the Lord?

  2. How easy do you give up on God answering your prayers?

  3. What do you need to keep praying and believing for?

MAIN QUESTION (SELF REFLECTION)

What is God speaking to you about in respect to waiting on him?

Encourage others by sharing your revelation in the group chat on Planning Center!
This is a self-reflection about what God is speaking directly to you about in YOUR life.
Words like “I” and “Me” are encouraged, “we” and “us” less so.

PERSONAL PRAYER STARTER
Lord, help me to be patient while waiting on you. I choose today to keep believing not matter what the outcome. Speak to me today, in Jesus name.

14 DAYS OF PRAYER (Corporate Prayer)
Today we are praying for UNITY.
Possible prayer areas: Pray for unity in the body of Christ. Pray against attacks from the enemy and his divisive schemes. Pray for people to put aside their personal agendas to see His kingdom reign. Pray unity and reconciliation over the church. Pray that we would see God’s perspective above all else.
