NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE: TO HIM BE THE GLORY

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE

Ephesians 3:20-21 (AMP)
Now TO HIM who is able to [carry out HIS PURPOSE and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to HIS POWER that is at work within us, TO HIM BE THE GLORY in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen. [SO BE IT!]

COMMENT
Sometimes we can read the bible with a self perspective. We read as if it is all about us but the truth is it’s all about Him. If you reread these verses paying attention to the uppercase words that are bolded you will see that this passage is far less about us and very much about him (TO HIM, HIS PURPOSE, HIS POWER, TO HIM BE THE GLORY). God’s goal isn’t our personal happiness or fulfilling our desires. It not about us getting what we want but him fulfilling his purposes. It’s more about him working in and through us.

God’s ultimate goal, which He pursues with limitless power, is for His glory to be known throughout the world, through the church and through His Son, forever. His goal is, “For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2:14).

What does this mean for us? It means that we should seek to have his glory in our circumstances, that we should desire for him to use our lives for His glory and for His purposes to be outworked in our lives. Then we can whole-heartily say, “To Him be the Glory throughout all generations forever and ever!

Now to him, we give you all the praise and glory!

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

  1. Do you read scripture for what you can get from it for yourself or simply to find Jesus?

  2. In what ways does your life reflect His desire for the earth to be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, just as the waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2:14)?”

  3. How does “self” get in the way of your relationship with God and you fully functioning in his body?

MAIN QUESTION (SELF REFLECTION)

What is God speaking to you about concerning Gods glory?

Encourage others by sharing your revelation in the group chat on Planning Center!
This is a self-reflection about what God is speaking directly to you about in YOUR life.
Words like “I” and “Me” are encouraged, “we” and “us” less so.

PERSONAL PRAYER STARTER
Lord, bring fresh revelation of the significance of your heart, “For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2:14). Help me to grasp this and have it manifest powerfully in my life.

14 DAYS OF PRAYER (Corporate Prayer)
We are praying for PRIMARY AGED CHILDREN.
Possible prayer areas: That they encounter God and develop a strong foundation in His word.
