COMMENT
Living as imperfect humans, we all carry a story. Alongside our victories, our history can include past hurts and old mistakes. When Jesus touches these areas, He brings loving conviction to move us toward total freedom. The enemy, however, uses shame and condemnation to keep us trapped and stop us from walking in the glorious fullness God has for us. What are you holding onto? Where does he want to bring healing to you today?
God is our Healer in every sense of the word. He restores us physically, emotionally and spiritually. Jesus came to bring life in abundance, and He is eager to bring wholeness so we can minister to others from a place of health. While some healing happens in an instant, internal restoration is often a journey. We invite the Holy Spirit to perform a gentle heart surgery as we bring our baggage into the warmth of His light.
Our memories do not disappear, but we choose to no longer be defined by them. We value the lessons learned from our mistakes while refusing to be held back by them. There is unstoppable hope in the promise that God trades our ashes for beauty. When He heals us, our scars are transformed into a bridge of hope for others. We look back only to see how far He has brought us, but we fix our eyes on where He is leading us next. God is good!
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU INVITE HIS HEALING
Emotional Freedom: You are no longer held captive by triggers. You find that you can respond to people with grace and kindness because your heart is anchored in God's love rather than past pain.
Restored Perspective: You start to see your history through the lens of God's redemption. You realize that your past does not define your future, and you begin to expect the new thing God is doing.
Deeper Compassion: Your healed wounds become a source of empathy. You find yourself able to comfort others with the same comfort you have received from the Father.
Renewed Energy: Burying pain takes a lot of spiritual and emotional energy. When you let God heal you, that energy is released for your purpose and for building healthy, joyful relationships.
A Future Without Fear: You stop looking over your shoulder at what was and start looking forward with excitement. You move from surviving your past to thriving in your calling.
THE HEALING TEST
Pick the number that best describes where you feel you’re at right now. Where ever you are pray about what might be your next step to move forward.
Controlled by the Past: I often re live past hurts or nurse grudges. I view new situations through the lens of who hurt me before, which causes me to be over sensitive or suspicious.
The Burial Strategy: I have tried to bury the pain by staying busy in work or ministry. I don't like to deal with it, but certain triggers still cause unexpected anger or sadness.
In the Process of Healing: I have identified past hurts and brought them to the Lord. I am learning how to forgive even though it is a struggle, and I am actively seeking His wholeness.
Redeemed and Moving Forward: I have allowed the Spirit to heal my heart. While the scars remain as part of my story, they no longer have power over me. I use my journey to help others find their own healing.
MAIN QUESTIONS
(Self Reflection)
Let’s Talk in the Chat
(on the Boot Camp group in Planning Center)One of the best parts of this journey is that we aren’t doing it alone. We’d love for our chat to be a place of real connection. As you go through each day, please jump in and share:
God’s Voice: What is one specific thing you feel the Holy Spirit is whispering to your heart?
Self-Reflection: What did the "test" reveal to you today?
The Wins: Did you do one of the action points? Tell us about it!
Testimony: Share a thought about how God has used a difficult season in your life to eventually bring about something beautiful.
Please Read:
Don't worry about sounding 'spiritual' The most encouraging thing you can share is your honest process. This is a self-reflection about what God is speaking directly to you about in YOUR life. Words like “I” and “Me” are encouraged, “we” and “us” less so.
ACTION POINTS
Identify the Root: Think of a recent time you felt a strong overreaction like anger or fear. Take a moment to ask God if there is an old wound connected to that feeling.
The Forgiveness Step: Write down the name of one person you have been holding a grudge against. Ask God to give you His heart for them as you begin the journey of forgiveness.
The Light of Community: Share a small part of your healing journey with a trusted friend or mentor and ask them to stand with you in prayer for continued wholeness.
PERSONAL PRAYER STARTER
"Lord, You know every part of my heart, including the places that are still hurting. I bring my wounds into Your light and ask for Your healing touch. Give me the strength to forgive and the courage to move forward into the new thing You are doing. Amen."
14 DAYS OF PRAYER (Corporate Prayer)
Today we are praying for HEALING.
Possible prayer areas: People that need physical healing. People that need emotional healing. Speak sound minds over people.
