— DAY 12 —
FRIDAY 13 February, 2026
PEACE AND PATIENCE
SCRIPTURE PASSAGES
Galatians 5:22-23
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. Against such things there is no law."
Philippians 4:6-7
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
COMMENT
On Day 11, we looked at the power of being planted in community. While the people around us provide support, the Spirit within us provides the internal stability needed to stay the course. Peace and patience are not just personality traits, they are evidence of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives. Peace is the quiet confidence that God is in control even when the circumstances around us are chaotic. It is the steady anchor that prevents us from being tossed around by the pressures of ministry and life.
Patience is the partner of peace. It is the ability to stay consistent and kind while we wait for God to move or for others to grow. In a world that demands instant results patience allows us to trust the timing of the Lord. When we are truly planted these fruits grow naturally. We stop trying to manufacture our own calm and instead draw from the endless supply of the Spirit. This internal rest allows us to lead others with grace rather than pressure.
True maturity is shown in how we handle the middle ground. This is the gap between a promise and its fulfilment. It is easy to be peaceful when everything is going well. The real test of our growth is how we respond when things are delayed or when people are difficult. When we remain patient and anchored in Christ we create a safe environment for everyone around us to flourish. Praise God for His Holy Spirit!
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ARE ANCHORED IN PEACE
A Contagious Calm You become a person who lowers the temperature in a room. Your steady spirit helps others find their footing when things get stressful.
Refined Responses You move from reacting to responding. Instead of snapping back, you find the grace to speak with kindness and wisdom even under pressure.
Clearer Decision Making Peace acts like a filter that clears away the fog of panic. You are able to see the right path forward because your heart is not clouded by worry.
Stronger Relationships Patience builds a bridge of trust. When people know you will remain steady and kind even when things go wrong, it creates a safe and healthy environment for everyone.
Restored Health Living with an anchored heart reduces the heavy toll that constant stress takes on your mind and body. You find that you have more energy for the things that truly matter.
THE PEACE AND PATIENCE TEST
Pick the number that best describes where you feel you’re at right now. Where ever you are pray about what might be your next step to move forward.
1 — Volatile: I tend to get anxious or snappy quite easily. I often rely on my own strength to handle stress, and when that runs out, my frustration becomes visible to everyone. I am yet to learn how to invite the Holy Spirit into my immediate reactions.
2 — Suppressed: I try to stay calm on the outside, but I am often boiling on the inside. I am "white-knuckling" my way through stress rather than yielding to the Holy Spirit. As a result, my frustration often leaks out through sarcasm or by quietly pulling away.
3 — Stable: I can usually maintain my composure. I am learning to lean on the Holy Spirit to keep me steady, though I still find it a challenge to stay patient during long periods of pressure. I am growing in my ability to trust God’s timing over my own.
4 — Anchored: I carry a non-anxious presence. Because I am fully yielded to the Holy Spirit, I can remain patient with people and peaceful in the middle of chaos. I don't feel the need to control the outcome because I truly trust that the Spirit is at work.
MAIN QUESTIONS
(Self Reflection)
Let’s Talk in the Chat
(on the Boot Camp group in Planning Center)One of the best parts of this journey is that we aren’t doing it alone. We’d love for our chat to be a place of real connection. As you go through each day, please jump in and share:
God’s Voice: What is one specific thing you feel the Holy Spirit is whispering to your heart?
Self-Reflection: What did the "test" reveal to you today?
The Wins: Did you do one of the action points? Tell us about it!
Testimony: Share a testimony of a time when you chose to stay patient under pressure and how that changed the outcome of the situation.
Please Read:
Don't worry about sounding 'spiritual' The most encouraging thing you can share is your honest process. This is a self-reflection about what God is speaking directly to you about in YOUR life. Words like “I” and “Me” are encouraged, “we” and “us” less so.
ACTION POINTS
The Spirit Gap: If you receive a stressful email or a difficult comment today, intentionally wait before responding. Use that "gap" to ask the Holy Spirit for His perspective. Let His peace, rather than your initial reaction, dictate your words.
Yielding the Breath: Whenever you feel your heart rate rise or frustration set in, stop for a moment. Take three slow breaths and with each one, consciously say, "Holy Spirit, I yield to Your peace." This simple act helps you switch from your own effort to His power.
The Audit: Ask a spouse, a close friend, or a team member, "Do I carry a non-anxious presence when things get stressful?" Listen to their feedback with a humble heart. Use it as a roadmap for where you can ask the Holy Spirit to grow His fruit in you.
PERSONAL PRAYER STARTER
"Lord, help me to stay calm today even when things don't go my way. I want Your peace to be the thing people notice about me, especially in the middle of a busy day. Thank You for being my anchor. Amen."
14 DAYS OF PRAYER (Corporate Prayer)
Today we are praying for our OVER 30’s & OVER 50’s Ministries.
Possible prayer areas: Pray for the people in our church that are 30yrs & over. Pray that God would speak to them and empower them to fulfil the calling on their lives. Pray that God would give them dreams and visions as they encounter His presence.
