COMMENT
Over the last few days we have seen how the fruit of the Spirit like peace, patience, kindness, and gentleness grow naturally when we stay close to the Vine. Today we look at how faithfulness and goodness work together to build a life of integrity. Goodness is the pure heart that wants to do what is right and faithfulness is the steady commitment to keep doing it even when it is difficult. There is a unique strength that comes from living this way. It is the joy of doing the right thing simply because it is right even when no one else is watching. While it is easy to be faithful when we are in the spotlight the heart of our character is truly formed in the quiet and unseen moments where our goodness is tested.
A mature heart is like a tree with deep and healthy roots. When you are rooted in the goodness of God doing the right thing is not a chore to earn a reward. Rather it is a natural and joyful expression of your love for Him. Faithfulness means you have the wonderful opportunity to be a person whose word can be trusted completely even when things get a bit inconvenient. There is such a deep and abiding peace that comes from being consistent in every area of your life. When you combine a heart of goodness with a habit of faithfulness you become a steady and reliable light that both God and the people around you can always lean on.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ARE ROOTED IN INTEGRITY
Internal Peace: You never have to worry about being caught out because your private life and public life are the same. You walk with a clear conscience and a light heart.
Increased Trust: Your consistency builds a foundation of trust with those around you. People feel safe and secure when they know your word is your bond.
Kingdom Promotion: As you show yourself faithful in the small, everyday things, God naturally opens doors for greater influence and responsibility.
Unshakeable Character: Like a tree with deep roots, you aren't easily swayed by pressure or temptation. Your values are firm because they are built on the goodness of God.
A Lasting Legacy: A life of integrity leaves a mark that lasts. You become a person who inspires others to live with honesty and devotion to what is true.
THE FAITHFULNESS AND GOODNESS TEST
Pick the number that best describes where you feel you’re at right now. Where ever you are pray about what might be your next step to move forward.
Situational: My goodness can sometimes depend on who is in the room. I might be tempted to take shortcuts if I think it won't be noticed by others.
Performance Based: I find it easy to be faithful to tasks when they are visible or celebrated, but I sometimes struggle with consistency in the small, unseen things.
Reliable: I am known as a person of my word. I strive to do what is right because I value my relationship with God, and people know they can generally count on me.
Rooted: My life is marked by deep integrity. I am far more concerned with my inner life than my public influence. I am joyful and faithful in the vision and every small detail.
MAIN QUESTIONS
(Self Reflection)
Let’s Talk in the Chat
(on the Boot Camp group in Planning Center)One of the best parts of this journey is that we aren’t doing it alone. We’d love for our chat to be a place of real connection. As you go through each day, please jump in and share:
God’s Voice: What is one specific thing you feel the Holy Spirit is whispering to your heart?
Self-Reflection: What did the "test" reveal to you today?
The Wins: Did you do one of the action points? Tell us about it!
Testimony: Share a thought about why being a person of your word is important to you in your daily walk with Jesus.
Please Read:
Don't worry about sounding 'spiritual' The most encouraging thing you can share is your honest process. This is a self-reflection about what God is speaking directly to you about in YOUR life. Words like “I” and “Me” are encouraged, “we” and “us” less so.
ACTION POINTS
The Unseen Task: Pick a small job that needs to be done today and do it to the very best of your ability without telling anyone about it.
The Follow Through: Identify one small promise you have made to someone recently and make it a priority to follow through on that promise today.
The Character Check: Take a quiet moment to ask yourself if you would feel comfortable with your private conversations from yesterday being shared with your church family. Use this as a gentle prompt to realign with God's heart.
PERSONAL PRAYER STARTER
"Lord, I want to be the same person in private that I am in public. Help me to be faithful and full of Your goodness in the small things that no one else sees. Thank You for being the one who sees my heart and leads me in truth. Amen."
